After purchasing villa in 2016, complete restoration started to make a family home in the Chianti hills. Focusing on elegance, comfort, style and the natural beauty of its location facing the hills of Lamole and Volpaia, the owners brought the villa up to a high standard suiting a demanding traveler. The interiors have been decorated and furnished with a blend of modern and antique furniture in keeping with the style of the restoration.
All 6 bedrooms offer lounge areas for calming rest or simply relaxing with a good book. All beds boasts brand new comfortable AIRELOOM California extra deep mattresses. 3 are English super king (American king) size, one of these can be divided into 2 singles and the rest are American queen size/English king size. All bedrooms are equipped with large bathrooms with walk in rain showers, 3 of them including bathtubs, air-conditioning and fans. One bedroom is on the ground level, with easy access and one bedroom is in the romantic upper tower.
The gardens have been designed to combine harmoniously with the Tuscan countryside in which the house is set. They are drought tolerant and planted with locally sourced plants or grown in estate greenhouses. There is also a pretty medicinal herb garden in which you can learn more about these amazing healing plants. Additionally there are vegetable gardens and a fruit orchard to enhance your stay.
The villa of about 600 sq. m is spread over 2 levels. Ground level includes hallway with access to a furnished courtyard with table for 12 guests, guest bathroom, 2 living rooms both with a fireplace, generous kitchen with cooking island and big French windows on both sides providing views over Radda in Chianti and Volpaia, dining table for 6 guests, spacious dining room with table for 12 guests with views and direct access to outdoors, second small kitchen offering a second fridge and second dishwasher. 4 steps down lead towards TV room with fireplace and big sofa, access to outdoors, to the courtyard and access to (low ceiling entrance) bedroom 1 with queen size bed (155x200), 1 step up to studio (no door) with direct access towards the courtyard and en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower.
First level features the other bedrooms. Master bedroom 2 offers king size bed (180x205cm), fireplace, one step down to en-suite bathroom with bath tub and walk-in shower, 2 basins and access to a walk-in closet. From this bedroom you have access to a hallway, which leads to bedrooms 3 and 4. This hallway is also accessed from the other side.
Bedroom 3 has queen size bed (155x200cm), sofas & fireplace, 1 step down to en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. Bedroom 4 has king size bed (180x205cm), 2 steps up to open bathroom with large walk-in shower, double basin. This bedroom entrance has a low ceiling and is also reached from the garden through an external staircase. Bedroom 5 features king size bed (180x205cm, convertible into a twin), view, 2 steps up to en-suite bathroom with bath tub, double basin and walk-in shower.
The following bedroom is only accessed from an external corridor above the courtyard. There are entrance with two steps up to gym equipped with TV, A/C, exercise bike, weights, Pilates equipment, rowing workout machine and bathroom with bath tub, sauna and large walk-in shower (plus extra hand held shower). 11 steps up lead to small lounge area and 10 steps up lead to bedroom 6 with queen size bed (155x200cm) and view.
Outdoor area features 7 hectares fenced-in garden with 1000 olive trees (the whole 13 hectares of private land). Charming courtyard is equipped with table for 12 guests, pizza oven and has access to the laundry room. Steps down lead to a chlorine-free swimming pool with views, sun terrace and a pool house with ping pong table, a shower and a guest bathroom, including covered area with outdoor hot tub.
There is an ATM, pharmacy, several grocery stores, a world-famous butcher/restaurant (Dario Cecchini) and a good gelateria in Panzano village, a scenic 20-minute walk from the villa down the road. After a relaxing day by the pool, take an evening stroll to the charming Panzanelle restaurant, walking 25 minutes through the vineyards of Molino di Grace to arrive in Lucarelli for a fabulous dinner al fresco. Alternatively, walk into Panzano for dinner or lunch, or for the more demanding, both Lamole and Volpaia can be reached by challenging walking or bike rides, or by car. The staff e can always arrange a taxi to come pick you up after your meal.
As the estate is situated in the heart of Chianti, you will find a great choice of superb wineries where you can stop for a tasting. Most of the wines in the region are organic, some, but not all require a reservation. The team will be happy to arrange this for you along with tastings, private tours and special vineyard lunches at the local vineyards (these must be arranged in advance).
